Singular Health Group’s 3Dicom research and development (R&D) software has been selected as the medical education program of choice by Majmaah University in Saudi Arabia, with an initial order of 20 annual licenses.

Following a competitive tender process, the software will be used within the university’s medical school for anatomy and pathology education, in addition to virtual surgical rehearsals.

The company’s technology will allow students to view a real patient’s anatomy in both 2D and 3D, while particular organs such as the liver can also be isolated for assessment. It provides a significant step forward from the traditionally stylised or animated viewing of “typically” healthy human anatomy.

Management says the order represents its first competitive tender award and when combined with feedback from other teaching hospitals and universities, provides initial validation of its software’s product-market fit in the more than US$44 billion (AU$64 billion) global medical education market. The company believes the deal also demonstrates an initial product fit in the vast education market for virtual anatomical and surgical training.

In addition to the license order in Saudi Arabia, Singular Health has also appointed a new sales partner in India, with a key focus on tertiary medical education at Cloudatomy – a government-accredited organisation that has existing medical education contracts with several major Indian universities.

The two companies have been collaborating with Sony India on the promotion of a bundled solution of 3Dicom R&D and the second-generation Sony Spatial Reality Display (SRD). The Sony product allows for 3D displays without the need for special glasses through the deployment of high-speed vision sensors that follow a viewer’s eye movement.

The collaboration was launched at a recent exclusive showcase event held in Bangalore by Sony India, with Cloudatomy also in attendance.

The accelerated growth of our global 3Dicom Partner Program, coupled with the ongoing development of our software applications, has fuelled a surge in inquiries and commercial opportunities being presented to us. We feel positive that the recently secured contract in the Middle East will open the door to many more opportunities in the medical education sector, well complementing our continuous commercial effort in the United States as well as globally. Singular Health Group partnerships manager Dr Martina Mariano

Singular is a medical company utilising advanced technologies to deliver personalised healthcare with solutions such as fully-immersive 3D medical imaging, medical artificial intelligence (AI) models, surgical design and advanced manufacturing of patient-specific medical devices.

Compatible on both Windows and Mac computers, the company’s 3Dicom software allows practitioners such as dentists, surgeons and radiologists to convert conventional two-dimensional MRI, CT and PET scans into immersive 3D images.

And it seems more of the world is gradually catching on with Singular Health’s quest.
