Gold Mountain recently pivoted into Brazil with a deal to pick up 75 per cent of nearly 4000 sq kilometres of ground across 12 project areas that are prospective for lithium. The deal will see Gold Mountain expand its existing JV with private company Mars Ltd who will vend the ground in. Mars is a prolific project collector who has clearly been busy getting ahead of the pack in Brazil, and the new deal will even include 607 sq kilometres of ground in Brazil’s famed “Lithium Valley”.

Matt Birney - I'm Matt Birney and I'm joined now by the Executive Director of Gold Mountain, Dave Evans.

Matt Birney - Okay Dave just quickly let's talk neurology first, who are the big players around you and what have they got?
Dave Evans - Okay the big well-known players currently are Latin Resources and Sigma Lithium. Latin Resources has substantial deposit at Colina about 45 million tonnes and Sigma Lithium is currently a miner. They've got approximately 10 different deposits so we are a newcomer but we are very well positioned, we have tenements very close to Latin Resources to the west and to the north and to the east within the Lithium Valley area.
Matt Birney - Of the 12 project areas, which do you consider to be the flagship project and why?
Dave Evans - Well that's a good question. I think at the moment our flagship project is really a toss-up between the Lithium Valley projects, which one of them is called the Salinas project, the next one would probably be our Logradouro project which is actually also in North East Brazil but it's outside the Lithium Valley.
Dave Evans - The good problem that we have is that we do have multiple projects and we've got geologists in the field now doing the ground cruising and sampling and we will probably have several high-priority projects that we're working at the same time so it's a bit early to say which is our flagship project but we are very encouraged by the Lithium Valley project, the Salinas project in particular.
Matt Birney - What are the best indicators of mineralisation at this early stage across some of the project areas?
Dave Evans - Well broadly speaking our geologists have found multiple pegmatite and we have identified spodumene in the field and we're waiting on assay results from the samples, the rock chip samples we've taken.
Dave Evans - We've also taken soil samples and we're launching a stream sediment sampling program which leads to drill target definition and it's very important to get into the drilling obviously because pegmatites are highly zoned and it's fundamentally important to understand the zonation and the juicy spots for the high-grade lithium zones.
